Lung Care Foundation, along with Doctors for Clean Air and Climate Action, organized an Air Pollution Training and Health Check-up Camp for Nagar Nigam Safai Mitras on 27 December 2025 in Indore. The program was conducted in partnership with the Indore Municipal Corporation, with support from Index Medical College and Shivoday Welfare Society.
Dr. Salil Bhargava, Chairperson of the Indore Forum for Clean Air, led an awareness session on air pollution, its health effects, and simple preventive measures. Mr. Ankush Jain, Nagar Nigam Officer, also addressed the participants and spoke about workplace safety and the important role of sanitation workers in public health. Dr. Bhargava examined several Safai Mitras and provided medical advice for respiratory and related health issues.
The program aimed to improve awareness of respiratory health and reduce health risks caused by constant exposure to dust, waste, and polluted air. It included health education, basic medical check-ups, and consultations. Around 100 Safai Mitras, 12 Nagar Nigam staff, a 14-member medical team, and representatives from two NGOs participated in the camp.
