On May 9, 2025, Lung Care Foundation – Doctors for Clean Air & Climate Action conducted an awareness workshop for 170 lawyers at the Bar Association, Civil Court, Gorakhpur. The session aimed to raise awareness about the health impacts of air pollution and the legal community’s role in driving change. Dr. S.K. Lath, Chairperson, Gorakhpur Forum For Clean Air, shared clinical insights on how polluted air affects multiple organs and complicates treatment. Dr. Rajiv Khurana demonstrated indoor air pollution using AQI monitors and highlighted the dangers of household pollutants like incense sticks and camphor. Chief Guest Hon’ble Shri Rajeshwar Shukla encouraged lawyers to initiate legal actions against air pollution, citing successful judicial interventions. The event emphasized the need for collaborative efforts between legal and health sectors to address the air pollution crisis. Plans are underway to expand the outreach and build momentum for clean air advocacy within legal circles.
