In a significant recognition of Doctors for Clean Air and Climate Action (DFCA)’s sustained and credible engagement on clean air and health, Dr. Arvind Kumar has been nominated as a Distinguished Member of the Expert Committee on Vehicular Emissions constituted by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM). CAQM is the statutory authority responsible for coordinating and overseeing air pollution control efforts in the Delhi NCR region.
The Expert Committee has been set up to develop time bound, evidence based strategies to address air pollution caused by vehicular emissions, one of the major contributors to poor air quality in Delhi NCR. The committee will review existing measures, examine emerging evidence, and submit actionable recommendations to CAQM within the stipulated timeframe.
Dr. Arvind Kumar’s nomination reflects the growing recognition of DFCA’s evidence driven leadership and the importance of integrating health expertise into air quality governance. It marks an important step toward centering public health considerations in policy decisions aimed at delivering clean air for all.
