An air pollution awareness session was organized on 3 February 2026 at Balrampur Hospital in Lucknow. The session was led by renowned respiratory specialist Dr. Surya Kant, who spoke about the serious health risks associated with rising air pollution.
He explained that air pollution is a major public health issue that impacts not only the lungs but also the heart, brain, and other organs of the body. Continuous exposure to polluted air can lead to premature aging and increase the risk of diseases such as COPD, lung cancer, and cardiovascular disorders. He stressed that clean air is a basic human right and urged both healthcare professionals and the general public to take active steps to reduce pollution.
The attendees were encouraged to adopt green habits and take the role of ‘Vayu Mitras’ to spread awareness. The session highlighted that unity is key to achieving improved air quality and healthier communities.
