As part of our research on air pollution and its health impacts, we conducted focused group discussions with women groups, health professionals, and local leaders to gather grassroots perspectives and identify actionable solutions. The activity aimed to raise awareness, understand challenges, and empower community members to combat air pollution effectively.
Discussions with women at an Anganwadi center in Gaana Pind highlighted their concerns about limited resources and awareness. Interactive sessions led by Varinder and Anshika provided practical strategies for reducing exposure to air pollution. At the Community Health Center in Bara Pind, health professionals, including ASHA workers and ANMs, shared their challenges in managing respiratory illnesses and emphasized the need for better resources and awareness programs. Local leaders in Rurka Kalan acknowledged their role in advocating for cleaner air and explored initiatives such as community clean-up drives.
Key outcomes included increased awareness, active community engagement, and leadership commitment to air quality initiatives. The discussions fostered collaboration, emphasizing the importance of grassroots participation in addressing air pollution and laying the groundwork for future interventions to create a cleaner, healthier environment.
