DFCA hosted the Joint Conference on Health-Centred Air Quality Management and Governance, organised in collaboration with the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, and the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, bringing together nearly 100 policymakers, senior doctors, public-health experts, researchers, hospitals, medical associations and civil-society leaders to advance inter-ministerial, health-centred approach to air-quality management.
From Evidence to Health System Action: The discussions explored how evidence on the health, economic and equity impacts of air pollution can strengthen governance, preparedness and decision-making, while DFCA Forums for Clean Air brought community experiences and lessons into the wider health-centred clean-air agenda.
Medical Associations at One Table: Representatives and leaders from National Medical Associations, including the Indian Medical Association, Indian Academy of Paediatrics, Cardiological Society of India, Indian Academy of Neurology, Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India, and Medical Students Association of India, alongside DFCA doctors from across India, came together to strengthen the medical community’s role in evidence, education, clinical practice, advocacy and coordinated action for clean air.
Taking the agenda forward, LCF-DFCA has facilitated the development of a joint Clean Air & Health Charter with IAP, and we look forward to formalising the next phase of collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding that translates this shared vision into sustained action.
