On May 22, 2025, Lung Care Foundation in collaboration with Baba Mastnath University (BMU), Rohtak, organized a Young Health Professionals Training and YES Talks session. Led by Dr. Sumit Bangeria and Dr. Rajiv Khurana, the session aimed to train AYUSH, nursing, and healthcare students on the health impacts of air pollution. Dr. Bangeria highlighted the systemic effects of pollutants like PM2.5 and nitrogen dioxide on the cardiovascular, neurological, endocrine, and reproductive systems, as well as the alarming rise in lung cancer among young non-smokers. Dr. Khurana emphasized behavioral changes such as avoiding plastic burning, using public transport, and keeping indoor plants. He encouraged students to become “Vayu Mitras” – ambassadors for clean air and climate responsibility. The event supported the DFCA mission of building a unified health voice for clean air. Future collaborations between LCF and BMU are being planned under an MoU to further environmental health awareness among youth.
