The Amritsar Forum for Clean Air organized a Health Staff Training and Awareness Campaign on air pollution and health across 11 healthcare centres in Amritsar from 17 December 2025 to 17 February 2026.
The campaign was led by Dr. Sonali Vohra and trained 466 healthcare professionals, including Medical Officers, Dental Officers, Staff Nurses, and frontline workers such as Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs), Lady Health Visitors (LHVs), and Multi-Purpose Health Workers (MPHWs).
The sessions highlighted how air pollution impacts multiple organs of the body and raises the risk of various diseases, particularly among vulnerable groups such as children, pregnant women, and the elderly. The training strengthened the capacity of healthcare providers to recognize, manage, and prevent pollution-related health conditions. As a result, the initiative supported better patient care, increased community awareness, and strengthened the healthcare system to respond effectively to environmental health challenges.
