Under the Indore Forum for Clean Air, an awareness lecture on the “Impact of Air Pollution and Tobacco Control” was conducted at Mittals Coin Industry. The session was led by Sangeeta Pathak and Shalini Shukla, President of Society for Agricultural and Environmental Sustainability, in collaboration with the industry management.
During the session, the speakers explained the harmful effects of air pollution and tobacco use, including smoking and chewing tobacco, on overall health. The workers were made aware of respiratory diseases, heart problems, and other long-term health risks linked to polluted air and tobacco consumption. They were also guided on preventive measures, healthy lifestyle practices, and the importance of quitting tobacco.
The program emphasized that protecting health and the environment is a shared responsibility. Nearly 375 labourers attended the lecture and participated actively. They engaged in discussions, asked questions, and showed interest in adopting healthier habits and contributing to a cleaner and safer workplace.
