The Mumbai Forum for Clean Air (MFFCA) was successfully launched on 14 February 2026 at P.L. Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Academy, Prabhadevi, Mumbai, by Lung Care Foundation under its national initiative Doctors for Clean Air and Climate Action. The launch brought together over 40 participants, including doctors, public health professionals, and representatives from government and civil society organizations, reflecting strong multi-sectoral engagement.
The Forum was established to address air pollution and climate change as a growing public health crisis and to promote health-led, collaborative action in Mumbai. The Forum featured insights from several experts, including Dr. Arvind Kumar, Dr. Amita Nene, Dr. Mehul Thakkar, Abhishek Kumar, Dr. Varsha Puri Madan, Chinu Kwatra, Dr. Girish Rajadhyaksha, and Rishi Agarwal, who collectively highlighted the urgent need for health-centred, collaborative, and accountable action to address air pollution and its growing impact on public health in Mumbai.
The event featured expert discussions on sustainable solutions, healthcare leadership, and institutional responsibility in addressing air pollution. The launch marked an important step toward strengthening partnerships and creating a sustained platform for advocacy, awareness, and action. The Forum aims to drive long-term public health engagement and support cleaner air initiatives across Mumbai.
