Under the Meerut Forum for Clean Air, in collaboration with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Meerut, launched a landmark policy brief titled “Strengthening Healthcare Response to Air Pollution with IMA Meerut: A Clinician-Led Framework for Integrating Air Quality into Healthcare,” alongside public awareness posters. Addressing air pollution as a critical public health crisis, this initiative empowers doctors to integrate environmental health directly into routine medical care. The framework outlines actionable measures, including issuing daily AQI-based advisories, implementing standardized clinical protocols, assessing patient exposure during consultations, providing preventive counseling, and training healthcare staff. Additionally, it emphasizes enhanced regional health surveillance to track and mitigate pollution-related illnesses. Led by prominent local medical experts, this strategic partnership establishes a proactive, evidence-based approach that strengthens the healthcare sector’s role in clean air advocacy and safeguards public health across Meerut.
