World Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Day, we organized an impactful community awareness session at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Jalandhar, in collaboration with the Agriculture Department of Jalandhar. The program, aimed at educating farmers and KVK staff about the harmful effects of air pollution on respiratory health, was led by Dr. Tanvir Bakhshi, Medical Officer at Virk Hospital and an active member of the DFCA Environment Committee. With 30-40 participants, including farmers, students, and KVK staff, the session highlighted the link between air pollution and chronic diseases like COPD. Key objectives included providing practical solutions to mitigate air pollution, promoting cleaner farming practices, and empowering participants with knowledge to protect their health and reduce pollution in their communities. The session also fostered valuable dialogue and strengthened future collaboration with KVK staff to address air quality issues.
