Open House Meet: Round Table Discussions on Air Pollution and Health

On January 19, 2024, the Lung Care Foundation (LCF), in collaboration with Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions (IHGI), organized an Open House Meet: Round Table Discussion on “Air Pollution and Health” at Saffron Restaurant, IHGI, Loharan Campus. The event brought together doctors, academicians, farmers, government officials, corporate representatives, and youth to discuss collaborative strategies for mitigating air pollution’s health impacts.

Key highlights included a keynote address by Dr. Rajiv Khurana, expert talks on the health effects of air pollution, and an interactive discussion where farmers shared ground realities and sustainable farming practices. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between LCF and IHGI to strengthen their collaboration on awareness and sustainability efforts. The event also featured a visit to the SDG Exhibition showcasing environmental solutions.

Major outcomes included commitments to promoting community participation, advocating for policy changes, and raising awareness about air pollution. Farmers shared success stories of stubble management and emphasized the need for financial support and awareness campaigns. The session successfully fostered cross-sector dialogue, highlighting the need for collective action toward cleaner air and a healthier future.
