Gorakhpur Forum for Clean Air (FFCA) in collaboration with Gorakhpur Nagar Nigam jointly organized the Swachta Pakhwada Marathon for an Open Waste Burning Free Gorakhpur on October 2, 2025. Around 50–80 participants, including officials and sanitation workers, took part in the event.

The marathon aimed to raise public awareness about air pollution originating from open waste burning and its harmful effects on health by engaging the medical community and citizens through DFCA and Gorakhpur FFCA.

Dr. Manglesh Kr. Srivastava, Mayor of Gorakhpur, appreciated the collaboration and emphasized that citizen participation is vital for achieving a cleaner city. He urged everyone to act as ‘Clean Air Ambassadors’ and take responsibility to stop open waste burning.

The event promoted awareness about waste segregation, clean air, and sustainable community practices for a healthier Gorakhpur.
