March 29-30, 2025
Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi

The National Conference on Environment 2025, held on 29–30 March at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, was organized by the National Green Tribunal with support from MoEFCC. It brought together India’s top leaders from the judiciary, government, and environment sectors. Dr. Arvind Kumar, representing Lung Care Foundation and Doctors for Clean Air and Climate Action, gave a powerful speech during the final session, highlighting air pollution as a “silent pandemic.” He stressed the need to reduce dust and smoke emissions—“धू और धु”—and called for urgent action from courts and policymakers to protect public health. His message received strong support from the Hon’ble President, Vice President, and Supreme Court judges, who echoed his concerns in their remarks. The conference boosted DFCA’s visibility and credibility as a leading voice in India’s clean air movement. Key follow-ups include continued dialogue, building partnerships, and training stakeholders to better address the health impacts of air pollution.
