On July 18, 2024, the Lung Care Foundation (LCF) and Doctors for Clean Air and Climate Action (DFCA) successfully launched a prescription manual at Virk Hospital, Jalandhar. The manual aims to educate healthcare professionals about air pollution’s harmful effects and equip them with tools to guide patients on lung health protection.

The event featured notable doctors, including Dr. P.S. Bakhshi, Dr. S.P.S. Virk, Dr. Tanvir Bakhshi, and Dr. Harneet Grover, along with hospital staff and media representatives. Dr. P.S. Bakhshi delivered a keynote on air pollution’s health risks, while Dr. Tanvir Bakhshi emphasized community involvement in mitigation efforts. The manual was officially launched by Dr. P.S. Bakhshi, followed by a Q&A session moderated by Varinder Yadav.

The launch received positive feedback, highlighting the manual’s significance. Participants actively engaged in discussions on healthcare professionals’ role in tackling air pollution. Moving forward, efforts will focus on distributing the manual, assessing its impact, and continuing advocacy through LCF and DFCA.
