On March 10, 2025, the District Administration Amritsar, in collaboration with the Lung Care Foundation (LCF), organized S.H.A.P.E. AMRITSAR (Solutions for Health, Air Pollution, and Environment) at the DC Office, Amritsar. This strategic session brought together over 80 heads of district administration departments to address the urgent issue of air pollution and its impact on public health.

The event aimed to assess the health and economic burden of air pollution, debunk myths, and develop practical strategies for mitigating environmental damage. Dr. Rajiv Khurana, Founder-Trustee of LCF, delivered a keynote address highlighting the far-reaching consequences of pollution and the need for cross-sector collaboration. Participants from key government departments, including Rural & Urban Development, Health, Education, and Industries, engaged in discussions on coordinated action plans.

Key outcomes included strengthened dialogue between medical experts and government officials, increased awareness of pollution’s economic and health impact, and commitments to implement time-bound actions. Moving forward, S.H.A.P.E. AMRITSAR will drive sustainable, action-oriented initiatives to make the city a model for clean air and environmental sustainability. The session successfully laid the foundation for future collaborations, ensuring a long-term commitment to combating air pollution.
