On October 13, 2024, Doctors for Clean Air & Climate Action (DFCA) participated in the Basics from the Masters conference in Jalandhar, Punjab, led by Dr. P.S. Bakhshi. DFCA emphasised the urgent health impacts of air pollution, a pressing global crisis.
Over 150 doctors from South Asia, the UK, and Egypt attended, with Dr. Rajiv Khurana leading a session on air pollution’s health effects. DFCA set up informative stalls, engaged physicians, and distributed posters to inspire discussions about air pollution’s impact on respiratory and cardiovascular health.
This initiative led to around 50 doctors joining DFCA’s network, advancing its mission. The event also fostered cross-border collaboration, extending DFCA’s reach into the Global South. With plans to follow up with new members and strengthen partnerships, DFCA remains dedicated to combating air pollution’s health impacts.
