The DFCA Assam & North-East India Chapter Launch was attended by a number of eminent Doctors, Educators & Officials from State Pollution Control Board including Chandan Mahanta, Prof. Of Civil Engineering Dept & Prof. & Head of Centre for the Environment at Guwahati, Prof. Gokhale, Prof. Of Environmental Engineering, Prof. Krishna Gopal Bhattacharya, Chairman of State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA), Assam Dr. Bamin Tada, Medical Secretary CBCNEI, Guwahati ,Mr. D. N. Das, Member Secretary , Pollution Control Board of Assam.
Chief Guest – Shri Rajib Bora, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary , Govt. Of Assam addressed the audience about the challenges faced by the state of Assam & other North-Eastern states at present.
The Panel discussed the negative impacts of increasing air pollution, sources, administrative issues & possible collaborative efforts that can be taken to mitigate these impacts.
The Participants were divided into groups and engaged in a Design Thinking Session to list the possible solutions that can be taken in order to improve the Air Quality in the cities.
The Doctors signed the pledge board and committed to give the gift of Clean Air to the future generations.
